Our aim is to provide an excellent education for all our pupils; an education which brings out the best in all of them and prepares them for success. Our curriculum is designed to: provide children with the core knowledge they need for success in education and later life; maximise their cognitive development; develop the whole person and the talents of the individual; and allow all children to become active and economically self‐sufficient citizens. The Science curriculum aims to develop pupils who are equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future. The curriculum aims to do this by developing the pupils' scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. Developing an understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of science enquiries helps pupils to answer scientific questions about the world around them.
