The Computing department at Marsden Heights follows the United Learning Computing Curriculum, which develops confident digital citizens. Through challenging and engaging lessons, pupils will learn how to use computational thinking skills to solve problems. All pupils will have the opportunity to write programs, create models, design webpages and produce professional quality digital products. We aim to equip pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. Computing has deep links with Mathematics (logic gates, arithmetic operations, search and sort algorithms and binary) and elements of PSHE (being safe personally, online and media, communities and culture, social responsibility and relationships). Computing also ensures that pupils become digitally literate - not only able to use information and communication technology confidently, but also able to express themselves and develop their ideas with it.
