Year 9 S.T.E.A.M Festival Tammy Quinn / 10 March 2026 / Categories: General On 27th February, our Year 9 students took part in an inspiring S.T.E.A.M Festival hosted at Nelson and Colne College. The event was designed to give students an exciting, hands-on experience across the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths. Throughout the day, students engaged in a wide range of interactive workshops and demonstrations, delivered by local businesses and organisations from across Pendle. These sessions opened students’ eyes to the many ways creativity and innovation work together; showing how the Arts can enhance problem‑solving, imagination, and critical thinking across all areas of STEAM. Students had opportunities to explore everything from coding and physics to design and engineering, giving them a taste of how these subjects connect to real-world careers. The festival also encouraged them to think about their futures, discover new interests, and spark potential passions they may wish to pursue further. The day was a fantastic celebration of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. Well done to all our Year 9s for representing the school so brilliantly! Previous Article "You're Hired!"
