Women’s Conference at MHCC Tammy Quinn / 02 December 2025 / Categories: General Despite the rain and challenging weather, women from across the community gathered at Marsden Heights for an inspiring Women’s Conference hosted by the Youth and Community team. The event provided a safe space for reflection, learning, and connection - bringing together voices, stories, and experiences in an atmosphere of support and empowerment. The day featured three powerful workshops: Let’s Talk About Health & Wellbeing Led by Lynn Lockett, Clinical Outreach Practitioner (Pendle West PCN), and Gillian, Advanced Clinical Practitioner Physiotherapist and Specialist in Women’s Health & Menopause, this session focused on physical and mental health. Topics included menopause awareness and practical advice to help women take charge of their wellbeing. Let’s Be Honest – We Are Superwomen Facilitated by Zoya Bhatti, Socially Engaged Practitioner (In-Situ), this interactive talkaoke created a safe space for honest conversations about juggling life’s responsibilities while maintaining mental health. Women shared their inner thoughts and experiences, celebrating resilience and strength. Aaminah Kauser and Her Words In this creative workshop, Aaminah Kauser, Engagement Practitioner, guided participants through a reflective exercise titled “How I Feel”. Women composed personal poems, exploring themes of identity and self-expression - embracing the concept of Me, Myself, and I. To ensure accessibility and family support, childcare was provided, and attendees enjoyed food and refreshments throughout the day. Jeni Begum, Deputy Youth and Community Worker at Marsden Heights, said: “The atmosphere of our Women’s Conference was filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt sharing, leaving everyone feeling uplifted and connected. “A huge thank you to all our attendees and workshop hosts for making this event a success!” Feedback from attendees was extremely positive: "When we carry the whole weight on our backs, to stop and think about yourself is a powerful act. This workshop was beautifully thought of. Thank you for making me think of me - my world and my selfcare." "I loved the session about me. It is needed, but there is never time! Although the time must be given to reflect and help myself. Thank you. Could you do this regularly?" Previous Article MHCC Shines in Cross Country Next Article Marsden Heights Youth Conferences
