MHCC Shines in Cross Country Tammy Quinn / 02 December 2025 / Categories: General MHCC students showed fantastic effort, positivity and teamwork at today’s Pendle Schools Cross Country Championships, held at Alkincoats Park, in Colne. The event began under unexpectedly bright, blue skies – warm enough that it almost felt like a layer could come off! However, in true Colne fashion, the weather soon turned, and by the later races the temperature had dropped significantly, leaving runners tackling a cold and very muddy course. Even so, every student approached their race with determination and represented the school incredibly well. We are very proud of all who took part, and we would like to give a special mention to our top-ten finishers: • Hamza R – 9th (Year 7 Boys) – Selected for the Pendle Team • Mohammad AS – 8th (Year 7 Boys) – Selected for the Pendle Team • Tina H – 14th (Year 7 Girls) • Kendra H – 13th (Year 7 Girls) • Muhammad S – 14th (Year 8/9 Boys) Each of these runners produced a brilliant performance in a very competitive field and should be proud of their achievement. Alongside these individual highlights, our teams also achieved strong overall results: • Year 7 Girls – 3rd place • Year 7 Boys – 4th place • Year 8/9 Girls – 4th place • Year 8/9 Boys – 4th place All students encouraged one another, demonstrated great sportsmanship throughout the day, and were a real credit to Marsden Heights.
