U15 Cricket Win! Tammy Quinn / 02 June 2026 / Categories: General Prior to the half term break, MHCC U15 travelled to face Balshaw’s High School in Leyland for a competitive cup fixture. We were treated to a lovely afternoon at Leyland Cricket Club, a great experience for our boys who were most excited by quality of the facilities and the small crowd in attendance. Batting first, MHCC lost a few early wickets, but the team showed real resilience to recover and build momentum through the middle overs. A composed batting effort saw them post an impressive total of 100 runs from 16 overs. In response, the opposition, featuring several strong club-level players, started confidently and looked dangerous at the crease. However, MHCC responded brilliantly with disciplined bowling and outstanding fielding, applying constant pressure and limiting scoring opportunities. The opposition were unable to match the required run rate and fell well short of the target. MHCC secured a well-earned victory and progress through to the third round of the competition. Player of the Match: Abu Bakar, Year 10 A calm and assured performance from our captain, who steadied the innings after early wickets fell, helping guide the team to a competitive total. He also contributed strongly with the ball and in the field, leading by example with a complete all-round performance. Well done to the MHCC team!
