Second Chance Clothes Swap Tammy Quinn / 26 January 2026 / Categories: General We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of Aila, Fatima, Halima, Noor, and Hamna, five outstanding Year 8 students who are representing our school as part of United Learning’s Social Action Programme. The United Learning Social Action Programme challenges young people to design and deliver an event that creates a meaningful, positive impact within their community. After research and discussion, our students have chosen to focus on sustainability, and particularly, the growing problem of clothing waste. Their project centres on a Clothes Swap event, which will take place on 13th February; an idea that promotes recycling, reduces waste, and encourages all of us to rethink how we use and reuse what we already own. As well as working creatively to design and promote the event, the team also presented in Year Group assemblies all week to raise awareness and drum up excitement! Students can bring in donations immediately; they can be delivered to Mrs Dell, Education with Character Lead, or the Youth and Community team. We ask that all donations are clean and on a hanger, if possible, so everyone can browse easily and enjoy the experience. Following the event, the Year 8 students will travel to Oxford to deliver a presentation on the impact of their social action project at Oxford University, with the opportunity of winning a United Learning Best in Everyone Award.
