Pupils Explore the Digital World Tammy Quinn / 01 April 2025 / Categories: General A group of enthusiastic Year 7 pupils recently attended the exciting Cyber First Cyber Megahub event at Nelson and Colne College, where they immersed themselves in a world of technology and digital innovation. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for young minds to engage with the ever-evolving digital landscape through a variety of interactive activities. Throughout the day, they tackled cyber challenges, competed in esports competitions, and coded robots with great enthusiasm. They explored key areas such as Cyber Security, Coding, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Robotics, Virtual Reality (VR), and Gaming. Miss Ferguson, Computing and Digital Lead, said: "The event was designed to raise awareness of the skills required in various digital fields and to inspire students to consider future careers within the Digital and Computing industries. The hands-on experience really allowed them to develop essential digital skills while working together with their peers.” The programme is set to continue over the next few months, giving selected pupils from Years 8, 9 and 10 the opportunity to take part. Pupils chosen for this experience demonstrate a strong interest in Digital and Computing, making them ideal candidates to engage with the activities on offer.
