Cyber Skills and Careers Day Tammy Quinn / 11 February 2025 / Categories: General Year 10 pupils from Marsden Heights Community College recently attended the Cyber Skills Day at Accrington & Rossendale College, as part of the Lancashire Cyber Festival Education Week. The event aimed to inspire and equip young people with knowledge about cyber courses at the college and opportunities beyond education in the sector. Throughout the day, students participated in engaging discussions and hands-on activities. Highlights included a VIP talk from the National Cyber Force and an AI (Artificial Intelligence) presentation by Sundown Solutions. The event also featured an exciting virtual reality (VR) experience focused on interview techniques and a team-building Virtual Escape Room challenge, allowing pupils to collaborate and problem-solve in a fun, immersive setting. All the attending pupils are studying Computer Science or Digital subjects and have shown a keen interest in pursuing careers in cyber security.
