The Road Safety Summit 2025 Tammy Quinn / 11 February 2025 / Categories: General Marsden Heights Community College was proud to host the Road Safety Summit 2025 on February 6th. The significant event was organised by the Minhaj Welfare Foundation and featured a panel of representatives from the Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service, Nelson Community Mosque, Lancashire County Council Road Safety, and Lancashire Police. The Mayor of Pendle, Mr. Aslam, joined the discussions alongside Principal Mr. Delve and the Positive Voice pupils from Marsden Heights. The summit's goal was to collaborate on improving road safety for all. Attendees were encouraged to be part of the change, as the mission is to ensure every journey ends safely. The event was broadcast live across the Northwest on AWAZ radio, where Mr. Delve was interviewed. He said: “As a school at the heart of the community, we fully support the Road Safety Summit. This event was crucial due to the local road traffic incidents, and we are dedicated to working together to raise awareness and make a positive impact.” The summit will result in a pledge for the community work together to address the consequences of dangerous driving, with plans to unite again in the future. Special thanks to our Year 10 Positive Voices—Hamza, Haider, Ismael, Hassan, and Humayal—who welcomed guests and shared their community engagement work. They will continue to represent the student voice for this important project. Previous Article Mums2Mums Next Article Cyber Skills and Careers Day
