Bringing Together Young Musicians Tammy Quinn / 18 June 2025 / Categories: General Since February, a talented group of young musicians from Marsden Heights has been proudly taking part in the Modulo Project, an exciting initiative known as “Orchestra for All.” This inspiring programme brings together students of all musical abilities to form a full orchestra alongside students from schools across the region. Our Marsden Heights mini orchestra kicked off their journey with a visit to the Royal Northern College of Music earlier this year. Now, they’re gearing up for the project’s grand finale, a celebration performance in July, where they will participate in inspiring musical workshops before taking to the stage with musicians from eight other northern schools. The Modulo Project is all about inclusion, creativity, and collaboration, encouraging students from any background and with any level of experience to come together and make music. At Marsden Heights, the group includes violinists, a drummer, pianist, flutists, and oboists. This week, they had the privilege of working with a professional orchestral musician, who supported them in rehearsing a variety of pieces, including the classic ‘I Wish’ by Stevie Wonder. They will continue to work together in the run up to the performance in July. The final event promises to be a spectacular celebration of music, teamwork, and the power of shared creativity.
