Celebrating Young Innovators Tammy Quinn / 17 June 2025 / Categories: General We were thrilled to see our talented pupils, along with their proud families, attending the Primary Engineer Awards held at Edge Hill University. The event was a fantastic celebration of their success in the “If I Were An Engineer, What Would I Do?” competition. Students were asked to design a solution to a problem, and their creativity, innovation, and engineering talent was recognised at the event. Their imaginative and thoughtful designs were on display for all to see, and they were recognised with awards at a formal presentation, a true testament to their dedication, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Congratulations to our award-winning students: Regional Winners: Azlaan (Yr 7), Ayesha and Muhammad (Yr 8), and Ayra (Yr 9) Highly Commended: Angus and Ismail (Yr 7), Fatimah (Yr 8), and Jaweriya and Abu (Yr 10) Mrs Ross, Careers Lead at Marsden Heights, said: “It was a brilliant to celebrate our students' achievements alongside their proud families. They realised what a huge success it was for their designs to be chosen by a board of engineers and received their awards with pride.” In recognition of the significant achievements in the competition, Marsden Heights arranged transport for all the students and their families from both Marsden Heights and Hyndburn Academy. It was a wonderful to share in the celebration and provide an opportunity for families to visit a university campus, which was an inspiring experience in itself. Mrs Ross, Careers Lead at Marsden Heights, added: “Parents expressed heartfelt thanks for the opportunity, with several sharing that the school’s support meant they were able to attend the event. Watching their children receive awards was a moment of great pride and joy.” Congratulations once again to all our students, who continue to amaze us with their creativity and ambition.
