Students Raise Over £1,000 for Charity Tammy Quinn / 06 January 2026 / Categories: General This Autumn Term, our students demonstrated incredible teamwork and generosity by raising just over £1,000 for the charity Every Action Has Consequences. Their efforts included supporting UK Charity Week with a series of exciting events and organising a magical Winter Wonderland to end the term. Beginning in early December, students came together to plan and deliver a week of fundraising activities. Daily events included a pop-up photo booth, sponge-a-teacher, a wax attack, and a delicious bake sale. Staff and students all got involved! Mr Javid and Miss Woodward showed true bravery (and a great sense of humour!) by stepping into the stocks for the sponge-a-teacher event, where students brought their best aim and made a big splash. Meanwhile, Mr Delve, Mr Palffy, and Mr Cunningham faced the ultimate challenge with a Wax Attack, as students stepped forward to administer the leg wax strips - all in the name of charity! To round off the term, our incredible Subject Ambassadors and staff transformed the Sports Hall into a festive Winter Wonderland, filled with crafts, games, and holiday cheer for everyone to enjoy. Each subject area created themed activities, showcasing creativity and teamwork to deliver a wonderful experience for our students. Student Leaders chose to focus their efforts on supporting Every Action Has Consequences, a charity that visited our school to deliver powerful assemblies and workshops. Students heard Adam’s story, a young man who tragically lost his life in 2009 while trying to mediate in a fight. The charity’s message encourages reflection on the impact of anti-social behaviour, individual responsibility, and personal safety; helping students understand how their choices can make a difference. We are so proud of our school community for working together to make a real impact. Mrs Dell, Education with Character Lead, said: “We place a great emphasis on Education with Character at Marsden Heights, and it is amazing to see so many students involved in these wider opportunities to organise and support charitable work. It shows a great awareness and understanding of the needs of others.” Previous Article Marsden Heights Youth Conferences Next Article Positive Voices Visit London
