Students Host Charity Cricket Match Tammy Quinn / 01 July 2025 / Categories: General A sunny day on the 3G pitch set the stage for a spirited charity cricket match between Year 9 and Year 10 students, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd! The event, built on weeks of planning and ticket sales, was more than just a game - it was a celebration of teamwork and community. It was brilliant match to watch, and closely contested; however, it was the Year 9 team who claimed the victory. The true winners were the local causes that benefited from the day’s efforts. Students chose to support the Nelson Community Mosque Food Bank and the Pendle Palestine Twinning Group, raising an impressive £249.88 through ticket and refreshment sales. Behind the scenes, it was the Positive Voice team who supported the event by planning and running stalls selling sweets, ice pops, drinks, and crisps, adding to the festive atmosphere and community spirit. A huge well done to all the players, organisers, and supporters. Student leadership and drive to make a difference really shone. Well done all. Previous Article ¡Olé!
