Positive Voices Residential Weekend Tammy Quinn / 12 May 2025 / Categories: General Positive Voices cohorts 13 and 14 came together for a dynamic residential at Coldwell Activity Centre in April - a jam-packed three days of learning, leadership, and team building. Ahead of the weekend, PV13 held a working lunch with Jenny to prepare, review the schedule, and take on leadership roles. These students stepped up to co-lead activities and support PV14 in getting the most from their first residential. Upon arrival, the group settled in with room allocations, bed-making, and a tour of their new surroundings. After a delicious dinner, they broke the ice through fun team challenges. Shout out to our UCLAN students Courtney and Georgia, alongside the Youthworks team, for leading with energy and enthusiasm! Day two kicked off with a high-energy start before diving into ‘getting to know you’ workshops including I Need a Hero, My Life, and Problem Tree. PV13 helped guide PV14 through each session, culminating in confident group presentations to their peers. The final day began with community project design — an opportunity for the teams to present their ideas to a judging panel. The winning idea will be brought to life with the support of PV14 in the community. The weekend wrapped up with some well-earned games in the sunshine, final tidy-up duties, and a group photo to capture the memories. A heartfelt thank you to Leoni, the Morrisons Community Champion, for generously contributing food supplies and supporting this impactful training residential. Mr Mashuq Hussain OBE, Senior Youth and Community Worker, said: “We are so proud of the Positive Voices initiative. Marsden Heights continues to develop a new generation of community-minded young leaders — and the Coldwell residential was another proud milestone on that journey.” Previous Article Road Safety Education Next Article Celebration Coffee Morning
