Positive Voices Become United Learning Peer Leaders Tammy Quinn / 04 February 2025 / Categories: General United Learning were so impressed with the ongoing commitment and efforts of the Positive Voices’ pupils, that they contacted the Marsden Heights’ Youthworks Lead, Mr Hussain, to invite the team to act as Peer Leaders. Positive Voices initially met with Laura, Lydia and Martina from United Learning to learn more about the support required to meet the needs of the 26 primary and 30 secondary schools, within the trust, who are about to embark on social action projects of their own. The team worked together to prepare and deliver separate webinars for the primaries and secondary schools in January. During their presentations, they used their knowledge and experience to present examples of the projects they have coordinated, demonstrating their planning and role allocation, and offering their top tips to make sure the schools’ projects run smoothly. They will be available to the United Learning schools to offer their continued advice and guidance. Mr Hussain, Senior Youth and Community Worker, said: “I am extremely proud of the Positive Voices team; they have really stepped up to this challenge. It is an honour for them to have the opportunity to take on this role for United Learning and is testament to all their hard work within the community.” Well done to the Year 10 pupils involved: Maryam Q, Abira J, Ruxandra S, Inayah H, Maryam N, Zainab H, Hamza S, Hassan H, Haider A, Ismael R, Ali K, Humayal N and Stefan T. Positive Voices is just one project at the heart of Marsden Heights’ Youthworks and works to positively impact pupils, broaden their horizons and provide invaluable opportunities for them to work with community partnerships within the Pendle area and beyond.
