Marsden Students hit new Heights with GCSE success Tammy Quinn / 20 August 2026 / Categories: General This morning, students at Marsden Heights Community College are celebrating as they receive their GCSE results. Results improved across the board demonstrating the progress and improvement the school has demonstrated in recent years. Amongst those celebrating were: Hashim who was awarded 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 6s. Hashim has been an outstanding and self-motivated student who worked hard to uphold his high target grades and achieve an amazing set of results. He is going to study Physics, Maths and Chemistry at Nelson and Colne College with plans to study Physics at university in the future. Anjaleen who was awarded 7 Grade 9s, a Grade 8 and a Grade 6. Anjaleen was very happy with her results, her motivation was to make her mum proud and she succeeded! She will join Burnley College to study A Levels in Chemistry, Maths and Sociology with her sights set on Dentistry or Medicine as a career path; Millie who achieved a Grade 9, a Level 2 Distinction, a 9-8 in Science, 2 Grade 8s, a Grade 7 and a Grade 6. Millie was particularly delighted with her Grade 9 in English Literature having enjoyed the course and texts studied. She is now moving on to Manchester College to study BTEC in Music Performance and follow her passion for performance (photo attached). Commenting on the results, James Delve, Principal at Marsden Heights Community College, said: “On behalf of everyone across the school I would like to congratulate our Year 11s who have worked so hard and who are today celebrating their results. For individual students these results set them on the journey for the next stage of their education with confidence, skills and a love of learning. For us as a school, these results demonstrate the energy, confidence and ambition we have for the future. “Behind every student’s success are those supporting them – family, friends and staff across the school.
