Empowering Young People Tammy Quinn / 29 April 2025 / Categories: General We were delighted to welcome Laura Simpson from Burnley Youth Theatre as part of an important community initiative aimed at addressing anti-social behaviour among young people. The workshop, delivered by Burnley Youth Theatre and commissioned by Lancashire Police, explored the causes and consequences of anti-social behaviour and its impact on individuals and the wider community. During the session, Year 8 and 9 pupils students reviewed a thought-provoking video created by their peers at Blessed Trinity RC College. The students identified acceptable and unacceptable behaviours, voiced personal concerns, and engaged in meaningful discussions on conflict resolution. The interactive drama workshop encouraged students to step into the shoes of others, enacting scenarios based on real-life issues affecting young people today. Through this hands-on approach, participants were challenged to find positive solutions and build empathy. This project is designed to raise awareness, empower young people, and strengthen their resilience in the face of anti-social behaviour. A huge thank you to Laura and the Burnley Youth Theatre team for delivering such a powerful and inspiring session.
