A Step Towards Future Success Tammy Quinn / 05 November 2025 / Categories: General Marsden Heights Community College hosted a dedicated Year 11 Careers Day on 22nd October 2025. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to focus on their personal development and future goals. Nelson and Colne College and Burnley College supported the day’s events and explored Post-16 options, the college application process, and insights into labour market trends with students. Students were also introduced to CV writing and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), essential for both education and employment. The day helped students reflect on their strengths, build presentation skills, and set clear goals for life after Year 11. It was a meaningful step toward informed choices and confident transitions into further education or training. Mrs Ross, Careers Lead at Marsden Heights, said: “It was a hugely valuable day for Year 11 and helped promote discussions about their important next steps. This is a fantastic stepping stone to making college applications and we encourage all of Year 11 to get these completed by the end of December.” Previous Article BAE Systems Returns for Year 7 STEM Roadshow
