TeenTech Festival Tammy Quinn / 24 June 2026 / Categories: General On 18th June, a group of Year 9 students attended an exciting and interactive full-day event at the University of Lancashire in Preston. The TeenTech Festival provided an opportunity for students from across the region to take part in challenges and hands-on activities, and network with employers. TeenTech Festivals are designed to inspire young people about the contemporary industries shaping their future. The day was full of immersive challenges and experiments for students, as well as a chance to learn more from engineers, technologists and scientists from a wide range of companies. Working in teams, students took on roles aligned with a start-up company, to become the inventors of tomorrow in an hour-long workshop. They were designers, developers and marketing experts, using sensors, data and cutting-edge technology, to tackle real-world problems! Mrs Ross, Careers Lead at Marsden Heights, said: “This was an amazing opportunity for our students who displayed brilliant teamwork and enthusiasm for the challenges, with some winning awards for their efforts. “The day showcased the real work that goes into science and technology and gave them a fantastic understanding of the industry.” Well done to Ahad, Elliott, Abdullah, Ahzad, Laiba, Talha, Mohammad, Halima, Minahal, Aisha, Hannah, Inaaya, Humaira and Hashim.
