Maths Feast! Tammy Quinn / 21 April 2026 / Categories: General Year 10 students from Marsden Heights recently visited Burnley College to take part in the annual Maths Feast inter-schools competition, joining secondary schools from across Lancashire for an exciting and challenging day of mathematics. The competition was packed with engaging activities designed to test students’ problem-solving skills, creativity and teamwork. Throughout the day, students tackled a range of mathematical puzzles that encouraged logical thinking and collaboration, while competing against teams from other local high schools. Schools taking part included Pendle Vale, St Christopher’s CE High School, Hyndburn Academy, Ribblesdale County High School, Mount Carmel High School and Oakhill. Our group of eight students was split into two teams, both of whom performed exceptionally well. Although neither team won the overall competition, their hard work and determination were recognised with separate team certificates. One team was awarded a certificate for winning one of the competition rounds, while the other achieved recognition for being the most consistent team throughout the day, despite not winning a round outright. All students represented Marsden Heights brilliantly. They were respectful, engaged and enthusiastic, and were a pleasure to work with throughout the event. Their positive attitude and commitment to teamwork reflected the school’s high standards and values. Previous Article Students’ Creativity Comes to Life
