International Women's Day Tammy Quinn / 11 March 2025 / Categories: General In celebration of International Women’s Day, a group of female pupils visited XLCR Vehicle Management to explore the diverse range of job roles within the business and take part in a valuable a CV workshop. In the spirit of the day, the workshop was filled with positive energy, celebrating the strong and inspiring women in the company – from the Operations Manager to the talented female apprentices. Pupils were given the opportunity to engage with staff, ask insightful questions and learn more about the fundamentals of being an apprentice in the workplace. Mrs Ross, Careers Lead at Marsden Heights, said: “It was an inspiring experience for our pupils to hear the women share their career journeys and professional expertise.” The feedback from pupils was extremely positive: “We learnt about the skills needed in different jobs.” “I feel more confident in presenting myself and my skills, rather than worrying about what I am lacking.” “I enjoyed actively viewing and listening to experience in the company.” “It was amazing, I could listen to the staff for hours.” “I will definitely think about this company in the future when I look into my options at the end of Year 11.” “I felt inspired listening to others and know what to expect in the workplace.” Overall, the visit to XLCR was a meaningful way to celebrate International Women’s Day, inspiring the next generation of young women to consider all the possibilities within the workplace and beyond.
