Performing Arts Cluster Event Tammy Quinn / 29 April 2026 / Categories: General Talented music and drama students proudly gathered at the Performing Arts Cluster Event, held at Accrington Academy on Thursday 23rd April. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for students from Marsden Heights, Accrington Academy and the Hyndburn Academy to share their passion for the performing arts and practise performing to an attentive and supportive audience from across the cluster. Marsden Heights students delivered confident and engaging musical performances, including Rolling in the Deep by Adele and Hit the Road Jack by Ray Charles. Performers included Rejoice (Year 8) and Aiyma (Year 8) on vocals, Caleb (Year 7) on lead guitar, Gabriel (Year 9) on bass guitar, and Eva (Year 10) on drums, accompanied by Mrs Thain on piano. Aiyma also joined an Accrington group of students on stage to perform another song as well! Mrs Thain, Teacher of Music and Literacy Lead, said: “I am so proud of our band and their growing confidence. They have been together for five months and only performed for the first time at Christmas at MHCC, and with new vocalists Aiyma and Rejoice at Easter. Their performances were a great success; they are going from strength to strength!” The event was an inspiring experience and a wonderful celebration of creativity, teamwork and performance skills. Huge congratulations to all involved. Previous Article Maths Feast! Next Article Inspiring the Next Generation of Engineers
